Solar Solutions: Industry get-together in Düsseldorf

Solar energy is on the rise in Germany. The German government has more than doubled the target for 2030 from 100 gigawatts to 215 gigawatts. This target can be achieved if at least 19 gigawatts are installed each year. North Rhine-Westphalia has a key role to play here: The most populous federal state has around eleven million roofs.

This huge market potential can be exploited. This is because the prices for photovoltaic components and solar storage systems are falling sharply. At the same time, technology is becoming more and more efficient, with solar modules and inverters offering increasing outputs. EVs, batteries, heat pumps and IR heating systems are also being added to complete sector coupling and make solar power usable in a variety of ways.
