Agrivoltaics experts to gather in Freiburg for July summit

From 1–3 July 2025, Conexio-PSE will host this year’s Agrivoltaics World Conference in Freiburg im Breisgau, southern Germany. The event will focus on how agricultural land can also be used to generate solar electricity.

Technology and yields take centre stage

The conference will address not only the technical possibilities of combining agriculture with photovoltaics, but also the latest research on how solar installations affect crop yields. Speakers will explore methods for predicting these yields in agri-PV systems and provide insights into the current regulatory landscape.

Experience agri-PV up close

To kick off the conference, participants will have the chance to experience agrivoltaics solutions first-hand. Conexio is organising three excursions to different sites in the Freiburg area. The Scientific Tour includes a visit to the agri-PV test field in Merdingen, followed by a solar-roofed vineyard. The Fruity Tour features a solar canopy installation on a fruit plantation and a test site examining the effects of photovoltaics on crop growth. The Vertical Tour showcases different approaches to vertical solar module installation.
