World’s first solar O&M best practices mark launched

“The SolarPower Europe O&M Best Practices Mark is an industry first and a major step forward for the sector, it will help create transparency and drive up standards across the O&M market. It assures customers that they are working with a provider of the highest quality,” said Paolo Chiantore, Managing Director at BayWa r.e. Operation Services s.r.l and Chair of the SolarPower Europe O&M Task Force.

O&M crucial part of the value chain

Operations and Maintenance (O&M) has become an increasingly important segment within the solar industry, accounting for about one third of the jobs created and value added by the entire solar industry in Europe.‘’One of the main challenges facing the solar O&M industry is the discrepancies between the quality of services provided by different O&M contractors. With the new solar O&M Best Practices Mark we will strengthen the sector by delivering excellence-led, proficient and reliable services in solar O&M” said Mate Heisz, Business Analyst and Coordinator of the SolarPower Europe O&M Task Force.

Companies can apply ‘

’Companies can apply for the Mark by visiting our new website, where they will have to pass certain requirements to receive it. We aim to have hundreds of companies sign up to this initiative, which will not only improve the competitiveness of O&M, but will also be extremely valuable to customers who can rest assured that they are getting a first-rate O&M service“ added Mate Heisz.

 The O&M Best Practices Mark has been developed by SolarPower Europe’s O&M Task Force and is based on the recommendations of the SolarPower Europe O&M Best Practices Guidelines. (HCN)
