On the new Solarcube One, the glass-glass modules themselves form the roof, so no separate covering is needed. At 3 m or 4 m long, each module spans the full depth of the roof in a single piece, which means there are no cross joints along the way and none of the sealing points they would normally require. The mounting and drainage are also designed to keep the patio fully watertight.
Daylight still reaches the patio through the gaps between the cells, and because the modules are bifacial, they also use light that falls on their underside. The frame is made of powder-coated aluminium with a Qualicoat Seaside finish, with the cabling routed inside the profiles and a maintenance hatch giving access to the electrical components.
The Solarcube One can stand on its own or be attached to a wall. Width and depth follow the module grid, while height is planned for each project. Depending on the configuration, customers can add glass sliding walls, awnings, lighting and patio heaters, and inverters, battery storage and smart meters are chosen to suit each installation. (nhp)
