Kostal's inverter pairing gives installers room to manoeuvre

The Piko CI G2 sits close to the solar generator, while the Plenticore BI 25 and storage system, such as the Helivor HV, can be positioned wherever suits the installation best. Multi Device Control (MDC) networks several inverters into a single overall system, with a central MDC host coordinating energy flows across the network.

Solar's €30 billion dent in Europe's gas bill

The Plenticore BI 25 achieves a maximum efficiency of up to 98.3 percent. Functions such as load shaving reduce demand spikes, and when paired with dynamic electricity tariffs, the storage system can be charged and discharged in a price-optimised manner. The three-phase backup power function supplies loads with up to 25 kilowatts.

Interfaces including EEBUS (LPC and MPC) and Modbus/SunSpec TCP are available for integration into networked energy systems. Push-in terminals simplify wiring, and commissioning can be carried out via app, web server or directly on the device. (nhp)
