In the auction conducted by Poland’s regulator, Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (URE), RWE secured a portfolio of solar projects totalling 102 MW in direct current, equivalent to 84 MW in alternating current. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025.
Growing renewable footprint
The awarded projects will form part of RWE’s broader strategy to grow its renewable energy footprint in Poland. The company already operates solar parks with 91 MW of capacity and has a further 100 MW under construction. In wind, RWE runs a portfolio totalling 541 MW of installed capacity.
