AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has acquired a portfolio of 17 operational solar installations totalling 70 MW from TotalEnergies, adding sites across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the UK and the Iberian Peninsula to its pan-European distributed energy offering.
Floating solar concept aims beyond reservoirs into rougher waters
The portfolio spans ground-mounted, rooftop and floating installations, all secured under long-term PPAs with established corporate customers. The centrepiece is a floating solar park in Belgium, which ADE describes as Europe's largest floating solar installation for industrial self-consumption. With the acquisition, ADE's contracted capacity rises to more than 250 MW, with 119 MW now operational.
A transaction with two logics
The transaction follows TotalEnergies' strategic decision to concentrate its distributed energy activities on core European markets. For ADE, it extends a model built around on-site power purchase agreements, under which renewable electricity is generated and consumed directly at a customer's premises. ADE finances and owns the installations, leaving customers with predictable energy costs and no capital commitment.
