Solar Investors Guide #1 – ELTIF 2.0 and PPAs

ELTIF & PPA: Funding Solar Projects

The reform of the European Long‑Term Investment Fund (ELTIF 2.0) gives institutional and private investors far better access to solar project investments. At the same time, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) enable returns independent of public subsidies.

Together, these two financing routes are giving the solar project business a strong boost. In 2025, significantly more private capital is expected to flow into Europe’s solar energy transition.

From the contents:

  • ELTIF 2.0 offers major investment opportunities in solar projects

  • “Negative electricity prices are a poor fit for PPAs”
  • Prices can barely go any lower

  • PPA‑backed projects emerging across Europe

  • New financing products for the project business
