Power-to-heat

Solar heating rod that increases self-consumption

In contrast to its predecessor models, craftsmen can easily install the device in the heat storage tank without having to consult an electrician. This is because the heating element is initially still separate from the electronic unit.

The new heating element with an output of 3.5 kilowatts is also infinitely variable. Because the unit can also control an external standard heating element with three kilowatts, a total output of up to 6.5 kilowatts can be realised. The unit uses surplus solar electricity, increasing self-consumption from about 30 per cent to up to 75 per cent. My-PV first presented the heating rod at an online event at the end of 2022. (mfo)
