My PV moves to direct sales for electric heating in Benelux

My PV is establishing a direct sales network for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, moving away from its previous reliance on regional wholesalers. The move is intended to support rising demand for electric heating systems by giving installers and specialist trades direct technical and commercial support from within the region, helping them integrate photovoltaic heating solutions into their offerings.

How smart energy systems keep Europe’s industry competitive

Saving on grid feed-in charges for solar power

In the Benelux region, My PV’s strongest demand currently centres on its AC Thor and AC Thor 9s photovoltaic power managers for hot water and space heating. Interest is also rising in the AC Elwa 2 photovoltaic heating rod, designed for grid-connected PV systems and increasingly adopted by homeowners.

“Our reference projects show that the Benelux market is well suited to self-consumption solutions,” said Gerhard Rimpler, Managing Director of My PV. “In the Netherlands, homeowners who feed too much solar power into the grid face grid fees of up to €800 per year, depending on system size.” Consequently, on-site use of solar electricity is becoming a preferred option for many households.

Netherlands: Homeowner saves €450 with solar-powered heating

Channelling surplus solar into heating

My PV’s systems are designed to redirect surplus solar generation to hot water and space heating. In one example from Lekkerkerk, owners of a detached house with a barn have reduced feed-in charges by around €450 per year by using the AC Elwa 2 heating element for hot water since 2024.

Visitors to the Solar Solutions Amsterdam will be able to learn more about My PV’s move to direct sales for solar-powered electric heating. The trade fair takes place from 10 to 12 March in Amsterdam, where attendees can speak with the company’s head of sales in person. (su)
