String inverters

Faster commissioning for ground-mounted systems

As part of Kaco’s new concept, several string inverters are centralised at one location instead of running one central inverter. At the same time, the DC generator junction boxes are distributed in the field.

As a result, the cable lengths between the inverter and the transformer are short, and there are only minimal line losses on the AC side. This is because the power loss can be reduced by up to 1.5 per cent per kilometre. This allows the high efficiencies of the inverters to be fully utilised and unnecessary AC cables are avoided.

The DC generator junction boxes for the system are matched to the various inverter types from Kaco at Weidmüller. This means that country-specific guidelines or individual project specifications can also be implemented. (mfo)
