Frederiksen is being promoted from within the organisation, having already played a central role in advancing European Energy's Power-to-X agenda as CEO of the joint venture with Mitsui & Co. Ltd., which is tasked with developing and delivering the Kassø Power-to-X facility in Denmark.
Nørgaard takes charge of offtake and partnership activities across the Power-to-X portfolio, shaping the commercial model for each technology and project. He joins from Topsoe, A.P. Moller-Maersk and the Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, bringing technical depth alongside commercial and value-chain experience in directly relevant sectors.

As European Energy's portfolio matures across e-methanol, hydrogen and bio-based technologies, the focus is shifting toward commercial models, partnerships and offtake structures. "Power-to-X projects need to be developed with a clear commercial goal in mind. Strong technology and solid execution must go hand in hand with robust revenue models and partnerships that enable long-term value creation," said Frederiksen.
