Leaders of our industry: Thomas Kercher of PMT

Last week you got to meet Carsten Körnig of the German Solar Association. Now it is the turn of Thomas Kercher of PMT to answer our six questions:

1. How are you personally – and as a company – coping with the corona crisis?

It might sound a bit strange but being part of the solar industry means one has to be used to ups and downs anyway. Besides from all the worries about the health of the loved ones and the economy it is important to remain analytic and optimistic. And that´s what we are trying to do. So far, we can say we keep moving on step by step by adjusting as we go in our business and private life. That way we believe to come best through this crisis.

2. What are you enthusiastic about, apart from your company?

It is impressive to see how people sticking together and adjusting their lives to the new situation. One reads a lot about the people who are not behaving well but the vast majority is keeping well. That is really impressive. People are creative and it´s impressive to see what could be done to deal with the situation e.g. the revival of drive-in cinemas for films or live acts.

If we stick together, we can achieve so much and hopefully finally tackle climate change as well.

3. What social media account or podcast makes your life better?

I very much enjoy 'old' vacation and nature pictures on Instagram. Besides from that, there is a lot of great live music available on Streams such as UnitedWeStream

4. Whom would you like to meet/have met?

I'm missing the exchange with my peers. Especially events like the Intersolar in Munich. I'm trying to keep remote contact as much as possible but it would be great being able to meet up in person.

5. If you could change one thing in the world – other than the corona crisis, of course – what would it be?

Hate. In our world there should be no place for hate.

6. What aspect of your company’s work are you most proud of?

Our entrepreneurial team spirit.
