The scheme enables large industrial consumers to secure renewable electricity at a fixed price of €65/MWh in the short term, in exchange for a binding commitment to develop new renewable capacity over time.
KEY 2026 – advancing new investment models
According to GSE, participants may delegate the obligation to build new renewable capacity to a producer between 16 February and 9 March 2026 by signing an addendum to the contract via the E-RELEASE portal. The arrangement takes the form of a tripartite clause between GSE, the user or aggregator and the renewable developer. (hcn)
