Fastned builds station for fast charging near Zurich, Switzerland

As in all European countries, the number of EV registrations in Switzerland is rising rapidly from year to year. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the number of electric cars registered in Switzerland in 2022 was around 110,000, about 40,000 more than in 2021.

The station in Büsisee Nord is the fifth of a total of 20 that Fastned won in an Astra tender. The Swiss government is aiming to install around 20,000 universally accessible charging stations by 2025.

Fastned is based in Amsterdam. So far, the company operates more than 275 fast-charging stations in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Belgium, Switzerland and France. It will open its first stations in Denmark by the end of 2023 and in Italy by the end of 2024. In just 15 minutes, EVs can recharge a range of up to 300 kilometres. (HS/mfo)
