A new generation in a family of DC-DC converters

The new Phoenix Contact units combine the functions of a DC-DC converter with the product features of the Quint Power PSU. According to the manufacturer, this is a unique feature on the market.

The new converters have a dynamic power reserve. For powering up challenging loads, the dynamic boost provides double output power for five seconds. With six times the rated output for 15 milliseconds, the SFB Technology provides sufficient power to reliably and economically protect DC circuits. Standard miniature circuit breakers are selectively tripped and consumers connected in parallel continue to operate. The static boost with up to 125 per cent continuous power enables simple expansion of the system.

The wide-ranging signalling with analogue, digital and relay contacts also allows preventive function monitoring of the system. Possible changes during operation are detected at an early stage and faults are prevented proactively. Another new feature is the freedom to choose between push-in and screw connection technology.
