Germany: Heckert Solar expands module production capacity

Subsidiary SolarWelt will start production of solar modules in Langenwetzendorf, Thuringia/Germany, in the first quarter of 2021. In the first stage of expansion the production capacity in 4-shift operation will be around 400 MW.

Monocrystalline half-cell modules with 9 bus bars and 166 mm wafers will be produced. The module output should be at least 370 W. When selecting the machines, special emphasis was placed on German and European equipment. "We want to make our contribution to ensure that the supply industry in Europe is maintained", says Managing Director Xaver Trinkerl.

The distribution of the solar modules manufactured in Langenwetzendorf is carried out by Heckert Solar, located in Chemnitz. Both companies belong to the same owner family.
