A detached house in Upper Austria that is heated only using electricity. The power comes from the solar array on the roof. A smart system distributes it throughout the building, which lowers construction cost considerably.

Innovative energy concept
This new-built is based on a traditional wood frame construction, but is still nearly self-sufficient.

The new-built in Ried in der Riedmark in Upper Austria is based on a traditional wood frame construction. But it is not just this popular, because inexpensive, form of construction that keeps the building costs in check: There is also a solar installation on the roof. Since the solar power is used for heating, the house self-consumes most of the electricity it produces. You can find out more about the benefits of this at the architecture database Solar Age.
