High-performance solar panels installed on farm in Holland

The rooftop system was installed in the Netherlands in March 2020 and has a total output of 268,56 kilowatts, making it currently the largest installation with REC Alpha panels in Europe. The REC Alpha series is the company's latest innovation and sets new standards in the industry, as it merges heterojunction and half-cut cell technology, thus combining high yield with elegant design. With a power output of up to 380 watts, the panel has a significant power density of 217 watts per square meter.

Edwin Schilder, REC certified installer who implemented the system, sees great potential for the product in the Netherlands: "Whether it is an installation on a family home comprising only a small roof area or a large system, REC Alpha is the ideal product for customers who want to act in an environmentally conscious manner while seeking maximized performance and reliability over a long period of time. My customers are willing to invest in this. At the end of the day, a higher price for the purchase of a system will pay off over a plannable lifetime of the solar modules. REC itself provides me with the best selling point - a strong warranty, the REC ProTrust Warranty."

The installation in the north of Holland will generate around 240,000 kilowatt hours of power per year. This is the equivalent of supplying 80 households with electricity. At the same time, the installation, which generates green electricity, saves 170 tons of CO2 per year. The REC Alpha 360 panels were installed for the 1,415 square meter PV system, purchased by the Carbomat Group, REC’s distribution partner in the region. (mfo)
