Meteotest: updated Meteonorm upcoming

Meteonorm continues to offer global coverage based on more than 8,000 weather stations, satellite and reanalysis data, providing parameters such as GHI, DNI, diffuse radiation, temperature and wind down to minute intervals. The new version introduces a refined structure that is more tailored to the specific needs of users.

The Climate tab offers typical meteorological years (TMYs), historical time series (hourly since 2010) and climate change scenarios (IPCC) for planning and simulation. The Observation tab provides irradiance data derived from satellites for monitoring operational PV systems. And the Forecast tab provides short to medium-term forecasts that are important for energy management and energy trading.

Successor to Meteonorm version 8

The completely new web application is the direct successor to Meteonorm software version 8 and offers versatile access: a flexible programming interface enables seamless integration into digital tools. The library/DLL enables Meteonorm to be embedded in third-party simulation software.

The API and the library/DLL will be presented at Intersolar 2025 in Munich at the beginning of May, while the web application will be released later this year. This update will ensure that solar professionals have accurate and reliable data at every stage: from initial planning to forecasting and operational analyses. (nhp)
