Leaders of our industry:

Kristian Ruby of Eurelectric

Last week you got to meet André Kremer of STEAG Solar Energy Solutions. Now it is the turn of Kristian Ruby of Eurelectric to answer our six questions:

1. How are you personally – and as a company – coping with the corona crisis?

Despite the serious general situation, we have seen some unexpected positive developments. We were able to switch to a fully digital mode of operation overnight and have been exploring new formats for interaction, like writing and recording a team song remotely. On a personal level, I have had more time with my family which is great after having travelled very intensely in the last five years.

2. What are you enthusiastic about, apart from your company?

Recently, someone asked me: are you just passionate about everything you do?? I am not, but I guess I am quite an enthusiastic person. Thinking big and delivering with excellence makes me enthusiastic. For leisure I am enthusiastic about sport – mainly tennis. I am also very much into playing and producing music. Recently I have been reading avidly and become very enthusiastic about artificial intelligence.

3. What social media account or podcast makes your life better?

I while back, I was interviewed for the podcast Redefining Energy. It was a quite lively conversation that I quite enjoyed. And they seem to have a lot of interesting people join. Next on my listening list is a Danish podcast called Dangerous Tones about the history of jazz.

4. Whom would you like to meet/have met?

I am fascinated by civil society leaders that change the course of history such as Mahatma Ghandi.

5. If you could change one thing in the world – other than the corona crisis, of course – what would it be?

In the big scheme of things, creating a more sustainable world that runs on clean energy is really what keeps me going.

6. What aspect of your company’s work are you most proud of?

I am proud that we consistently seek to advance the energy transition through clean energy deployment and electrification. (mfo)
