EVBox Livo starts integration with energy management system

These EMS platforms provide a solution to the increased energy consumption associated with electric vehicle charging. Now fully tested with TQ's EEBus-enabled EMS, EVBox Livo enables EV drivers to reduce their energy bills and take control of their energy consumption with solar panels, battery storage and heat pumps. EVBox Livo can be connected to an increasing number of EEBus-enabled EMS providers such as TQ, giving homeowners the opportunity to optimise their use of energy sources such as renewable energy generated by solar panels.

EVBox and TQ are supporters of EEBus as a universal language for energy management and simplify interoperable communication between power generators, consumers and storage units. With electric mobility growing rapidly and becoming the new normal in the near future, the standardisation of solutions must meet the ever-changing requirements. Across Europe, homeowners are looking to electrify their homes to reduce their CO2 emissions and save on energy costs. EEBus is ready for future developments in energy management so that the impact of electric vehicle charging on electricity grids can be mitigated. With the open standard EEBus, the EVBox Livo can communicate with TQ-Systems' Home EMS platform via a plug-and-play solution, enabling a seamless, compatible solution with the grid operator.

Charging at home meets smart energy management

With the increasing popularity of solar panels, feeding profit into the grid has become more expensive in various markets. TQ's EMS can help make better use of your solar panels by charging an electric vehicle when profit is available. This means that more solar power and less grid power is used in the home, helping to avoid high energy bills.

Pairing with an energy manager such as TQ can be easily done via the EVBox Install app without the need for additional hardware. The EMS can be searched for in the network and automatically recognised and paired. (mfo)
