SMA Sunny Tripower CORE1: First freestanding inverter for commercial PV systems – up to 60 percent faster installation
SMA has expanded its internationally successful Sunny Tripower string inverter family with the third generation. The 50 kW string inverter is designed for global use in decentralized, commercial rooftop, carport and ground-based PV systems. It will be available in the second quarter of next year. At Solar Power International (SPI) in Las Vegas last week SMA has presented the new inverter for the first time.
No additional installation equipment necessary
“The groundbreaking design of the freestanding Sunny Tripower CORE1, which can be installed directly on roofs or the ground without the need for additional installation or racking equipment, makes the process of implementing commercial PV systems much more efficient and cost-effective,” said Nick Morbach, Executive Vice President of SMA’s Commercial business unit.
Flexibility in system design
“The Sunny Tripower CORE1 will set the base of a new SMA solution achieving optimal self- consumption in commercial applications on both the strong growth U.S. market and worldwide. It provides maximum flexibility in system design and helps cut project costs significantly for all commercial PV systems up to a multi megawatt range", Morbach added.
Twelve DC inputs, six MPP trackers
With an output of 50 kW, scalability up to the megawatt range, six MPP trackers, twelve DC inputs and integrated DC and AC switches, the Sunny Tripower CORE1 ensures maximum energy yields at all times, SMA says. Over-dimensioning of up to 150 percent is possible. Integrated WLAN makes communication via mobile devices even quicker and easier. (HCN)
