Powering a hospital with a large solar PV project

The Abdali Medical Center project near Jordan’s capitol Amman is one of the major projects installed by Philadelphia Solar. It is a turnkey solution to generate the electricity for Abdali Medical Center that will cover the hospital’s consumption, enabling it to better serve its patients. This is achieved by establishing a reliable source of clean energy that covers the centre’s electricity demand.

The system consists of 25,090 Philadelphia Solar polycrystalline panels of 325 watts each and Philadelphia Solar mounting systems. The capacity of the overall system is 8.2 megawatts, which Philadelphia Solar say is the largest PV system installed for a single medical centre in the world.

Philadelphia Solar is the first PV manufacturer in the MENA region and have an annual PV production capacity of 500 megawatts. They also operate automated steel production lines to manufacture corrosion resistant steel mounting structures with an annual capacity of 300 megawatts. (mfo)
