VARTA Storage and Heckert Solar have entered into a cooperation agreement in the field of energy storage to combine their respective competencies. The German solar panel manufacturer will integrate the VARTA element, VARTA home and VARTA family storage systems into its distribution portfolio.

Energy storage: German-based VARTA and Heckert Solar join forces.

The two prestigious companies are combining their valuable experience to launch a joint 'Made in Germany' quality campaign. Solar power systems and storage systems belong together and should be installed together. Electricity generated during the day on the roof must be stored for evening and night hours to make solar power worthwhile. Cooperation between storage and solar panel manufacturers therefore makes good sense.

Easy installation

"Heckert Solar specialises in the manufacture or high-quality, high-performing solar panels," says Herbert Schein, CEO of the VARTA Microbattery/VARTA Storage group. "These panels perfectly complement our innovative home storage systems”, he adds. Michael Bönisch, authorised representative of Heckert Solar, says: "Easy to install, reliable technology and competitive prices, that's your perfect battery storage system. VARTA Storage products meet all of the above criteria. Together, we are now in a position to offer perfectly matched systems for generating and storing solar power."

Retrofit kits available

In this context, the extendibility of the VARTA element 3 and VARTA element 6 storage systems, a new feature that was announced at the recent Intersolar Europe, is particularly relevant to home owners and builder-owners. Simple upgrade sets lift these starter storage models to the performance level of the new top series VARTA element 9 with a capacity of 9.6 kWh. Suitable photovoltaic panels in various performance classes can be found in Heckert Solar's comprehensive portfolio. (HCN)
