Eaton Electric: second-life storage

© Vorsatz.Media

Irish company Eaton uses, among other things, second-life batteries with lithium cells of the car maker Nissan. Eaton inspects all cells very carefully, sorts out the unusable and manufactures new battery modules for stationary storage systems. The small version of the commercial store offers 20 kilowatts of power and 21 kilowatt hours of capacity.

The second-life storage is cheaper than systems with new storage cells. The warranty is five years only half the duration. Eaton also offers its customers storage systems with new lithium cells.
