Go the easier way: AC Elwa stores surplus solar energy from PV in hot potable water

How does it work? The water battery AC Elwa-E recognizes the energy needs of energy storage units within the household. By doing so, the new system distributes surplus energy to hot water and helps saving costs and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

Due to the low cost of energy, owners of PV systems strive to produce as much energy as possible for their own use. Energy storage units, such as Powerwall recently presented by Tesla, are one possible solution. Yet, the more cost-effective way is to store energy in hot water.

The water battery is compatible with various energy storage units, inverters and home systems such as Varta Storage, SMA, Fronius and more. The open and independent storage system communicates with common battery-management-systems through an interface. Furthermore, it is possible to connect it to smart home systems.

Throughout summer and the transitional periods of spring and autumn, the battery is able to heat the entire water supply of the household. Thereby the owners of PV systems can avoid the inefficient start-up of the heating system, save operating costs and reduce carbon emissions. My-PV will be exhibiting at Intersolar and ees 2016, June 22-24 in Munich at booth B1.634. (HS)
