Half-cells generate greater output

The modules NU-JC330, NU-BA385 and NU-JB395 – latest arrivals to the NU family – offer two to three per cent more output than standard modules. Of course, one half cell generates half as much power than a full cell, but the loss due to electrical resistance is reduced to a quarter. This ultimately increases the overall energy yield.

The lower current also significantly reduces the cell temperature, thus lowering the risk of hot-spot effects and extending the service life of the modules. The half-cell modules have three small junction boxes, each containing a bypass diode. This means that less heat is transferred to the cells right above them.

The NU-BA385 and NU-JB395 modules, consisting of 144 monocrystalline half cells, are particularly suitable for larger roof and ground-mounted systems where maximum yields are required. At 395 watts, the NU-JB395 with a system voltage of 1,500 volts offers the highest output of the three modules. (mfo)
