Wattkraft signs new distribution agreement with Huawei Solar for 500 MW of inverters

The agreement, which builds on an existing relationship, will see both companies consolidate in existing markets, as well as expanding into new ones.

FusionSolar Smart PV string inverters

Huawei Solar will support Wattkraft to extend their business globally, expanding further into growing markets such as India, Brazil and USA. Of the 500 MW of inverter capacity to be shipped, 300 MW will be completed in Germany, with 200 MW outside of the country. Wattkraft exclusively provides Huawei FusionSolar Smart PV string inverters as well as added value services and solutions, while supporting resellers and medium to large scale projects.

250 MW distributed in 2016 in Europe

For the past two years, Wattkraft has been the principal distributor for Huawei FusionSolar Smart PV string inverters in the European market, distributing 95 MW and 250 MW in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Its considerable international network will provide the two companies with the flexibility to adapt to an increasingly demanding market landscape. Wattkraft possesses a strong record of fast delivery services and a tracking system with warehouses in Nurnberg and Bremen, holding a permanent stock above 20 MW.

New added value services and quality

At the ceremony, Mr. Giovanni Migliore, CEO of WattKraft, said “It is exciting to see how together we have developed a successful growth strategy within a global solar market that requires a high degree of flexibility and competitiveness. Through partnership, Wattkraft can generate new added value services and delivery quality on the distribution side, and Huawei can deliver products and innovation, with the strong brand presence and determination of a true leader.”

A spokesperson from Huawei Solar said, “With this framework agreement we are underlining the strong cooperation between Huawei and Wattkraft. We look forward to supporting Wattkraft’s expansion in Central Europe and other markets.” (HCN)
