Steca Elektronik: Second production plant since 2006 in Bulgaria – 250 employees

The groundbreaking ceremony for the plant in Bulgaria was held in 2006. “We have every reason to be satisfied: the plant in Bulgaria has constantly grown since we launched production. New production and task areas have been added year for year, and the production areas in the building have already had to be extended,” the three Steca Managing Directors, Peter and Michael Voigtsberger and Dr Gerald Katzler underline.

German quality and low-cost production abroad

The Steca story in Bulgaria would reflect the overall economic development in the country and, in particular,  its strategic importance for Bavaria. “Today, Bulgaria is among the top 50 most important trade partners for Bavaria,” Katzler said. With its two locations, Steca could combine the quality and flexibility of a German provider with the advantages of low-cost production abroad. Both facilities are ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.

80 percent turnover with Bulgarian and Bavarian customers

In its plant in Saedinenie Steca produces cables, electronic devices and complete electronic systems. The production and storage area of the facility is 4,200 sqare meters, whereas the production facility in Memmingen occupies around 25,000 square metres. 80 percent of its turnover the Bulgarian Steca plant generates with Bulgarian and Bavarian customers.
