Race against the clock: the ultimate test of a flat roof mounting system

@ IBC Solar

Tense silence: The experts of pv Europe and of German Society for Solar Energy (DGS) want to know: How fast can installers build up this IBC Aerofix? The result is amazing: 8:37 minutes for one kilowatt. This is a record in this technology and not only due to the skills of the craftsmen. The best was the system itself. It contains only a limited number of components that are perfectly matching each other. The system therefore can be assembled very easily and quickly.

IBC Solar cooperates with its professional partners to develop the products. A good example is the mounting system Aerofix. From the start in 2013 this system was well adopted in the market and since then it was further improved. This is to show in many small details.

No problems with much snow

An additional snow load rail allows the use of IBC Aerofix in regions with much and heavy snow. This rail is made of noncorrosive stainless steel. It will be put between the solar module and the prop. That´s why the module rests on it in a well-defined clamping range within the specification of the module suppliers. The maximum load of the modules rises from 2,400 to 5,400 pascal for each module. That is the reason because the IBC Aerofix is very suitable for snowy regions in the north or alpine areas.

The snow load rail is available with a length of 36 centimetres for the margins of the module array or with 66 centimetres within the solar field. This rail is available for all the common IBC Aerofix-props and all the solar modules in the portfolio of IBC Solar. It can be mounted without special tools. The whole system is optimized for minimum material use in order to increase the economics.

No hanging, no corrosive contacts

All the mounting systems of IBC Solar can also be completed with a helpful cable clip to fix the CD connectors of the solar modules and prevents the cables from hanging. Unfixed cables or module connectors may be damaged by dropping water or corrosive contact with the roof or other parts of the solar generator. The cable clip will easily be clipped to the props of the Aerofix. It can also be used with the rails of the pitched roof system IBC Topfix 200 or with the frame of the modules. (WV, HS)
