Ingeteam supplies Europe`s largest PV project

Ingeteam has secured the supply and installation contract for Europe's largest PV project. The Mula PV plant, located in the south-east of the municipality of Mula in the region of Murcia, will have an installed power capacity of 500 MW, which will make it the largest PV plant in Spain and in Europe as a whole.

2 GW inverters supplied in Spain - 900 MW PV power maintained

Thanks to this new contract, by December Ingeteam will reach the figure of 2 GW in PV inverters supplied to the Spanish market. Added to this milestone are the 900 MW of PV power maintained by Ingeteam in Spain. This figure consolidates the company's global leadership position in the provision of power plant Operation & Maintenance Services, with 12 GW.

It is estimated that, by the end of 2019, the plant could be fully operational, through the access and connection point at the El Palmar substation, a strategic hub for the power transmission grid in Murcia.

Expected yield of 750 million kWh yearly

Covering a surface area of almost 1,000 hectares, similar to around 2,000 football pitches, the Mula solar plant is calculated to produce more than 750 million kWh per year, providing sufficient energy to supply a city of 450.000 inhabitants. The scale of the project makes this a unique initiative for the region, positioning Murcia as a leading renewables producer at a global level.

238 central PV inverters with 1500 Vdc technology

Delivery has already started on the total of 238 central PV inverters to be supplied by Ingeteam, all with 1500 Vdc technology. Moreover, the supply is not limited to the PV inverters, but covers the complete medium voltage solution, the Inverter Station. This solution comprises all the low and medium voltage equipment required (LV/MV transformer, MV switchgear, LV switchboard and auxiliary services transformer), which is connected in the field to the PV inverters.

74 inverter stations connected

Apart from the supply of equipment, Ingeteam is to perform the work to unload, position and connect the 74 inverter stations, in addition to the commissioning and electromechanical installation work. (HCN)
