Sonnen sales increase by 150 percent

The manufacturer of solar energy storage systems Sonnen has reached a new record sales in October. The Bavarian based company delivered a total of 1,450 battery storage units this month. That is an increase of 150 percent compared to the same month last year. Sales reached almost eight million euros in the record month.

The company attributes the good result above all to the increased demand in Germany, which in turn is due to the high electricity price that benefits the storage industry. As the company informs, the combinations of energy storage and various energy services, such as the electricity flat rate, the solar community and electricity sharing, are of particular interest. About 80 percent of customers choose these options, not only in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. Energy services are also in demand in the U.S. and Australia.

Other sales market in prospect

Germany, Austria and Switzerland are the leading markets for Sonnen. But also in other countries, especially Italy, Australia and the U.S., sales figures are rising. "It pays off now that we invested quite early in new markets, which are now developing very well," explains Philipp Schröder, responsible for sales and marketing at Sonnen. "But that's only the beginning, because clean and affordable energy will ultimately be relevant in all countries. In addition to our current foreign activities, we are already seeing further, completely new markets for us. "

The company has recently entered the market in the Philippines and in Malaysia in cooperation with the local partner Natural Solar. Sonnen also supplies its energy storage systems to more and more European countries such as Scandinavia, the Czech Republic and Spain. (HCN/SU).
