Partnership with Microsoft and Top 5 at Handelsblatt Energy Awards 2020

PV monitoring startup Solytic joins "Microsoft for Startups" program and gets into top 5 out of 152 contestants at Handelsblatt Energy Awards 2020.

With Microsoft, Solytic gains a strong technology partner through the "Microsoft for Startups" initiative. "The partnership gives us access to the cloud technology Azure and other benefits that allow us to continue our rapid growth," said Steffen Mangold, CTO of Solytic. "Currently, more than 100,000 PV plants regularly send us their data, some of which go back up to 20 years. In the coming years, we want to grow to over 1 million solar plants. For this, we need the appropriate infrastructure to be able to analyze the data volumes safely and reliably. A strong technology partner like Microsoft is a huge advantage in this respect.

Microsoft had announced on its blog that it would become not only CO2-neutral, but CO2-negative: "While the world will need to reach net zero, those of us who can afford to move faster and go further should do so. That's why today we are announcing an ambitious goal and a new plan to reduce and ultimately remove Microsoft's carbon footprint."

"This is an ambitious but necessary vision. We are proud that our partner wants to play a pioneering role here and that words are followed by actions," says Mangold.

Solytic's solution also pleased the expert jury at the Handelsblatt Energy Awards 2020, which voted the Berlin-based company into the top 5 out of 152 contestants in the category "startups".
