Residential solar plant in Finland with impressive yield – Matti Lehtonen joined pv Guided Tours

Matti Lehtonen has been running a 2.52-kW ground-mount system with twelve crystalline solar modules a 210 W from Heckert Solar for four years in the town of Tuusula in southern Finland. In 2015, he supplemented the system by a 3.75 kW strong tracker with fifteen 250 W modules from Heckert. As an inverter, he uses the 9 kW Sunny Tripower STP from SMA with two DC and one AC breaker.

Impressive yearly yield of 7,200 kWh

The residential plant generated 7,200 kWh last year, which is a considerable 1,148 kWh / kW annually. The power is fed into the grid."Only during two months of the year, from the end of November to the beginning of February, the yield is quite low, because the days are short and often cloudy," says Lehtonen.

Valuable information from pv Guided Tours at Intersolar

However, he is convinced that photovoltaics have a great future in Finland. His next step is to install a battery system. "Especially for home storage, I got a lot of useful new information at the pv Guided Tours," he says. He also participated in the pv Guided Tours at Intersolar in Munich on high-efficiency and smart solar modules. "The pv Guided Tours are really a great way to find and get new information," says Lehtonen. (HCN)
