Solarwatt with extended warranty package for energy storage systems

Just in time for the delivery of the My-Reserve Matrix, the Dresden supplier is expanding its warranty conditions. The usual limitation of the guarantee values to a specific number of cycles was dropped. "Thanks to the powerful cells and intelligent battery management, the number of charging and discharging cycles is unimportant for the battery life," explains Olaf Wollersheim, Managing Director of the Solarwatt Innovation Technology Center in Frechen near Cologne. "A properly designed battery nowadays reaches its end of life by a high calendrical age and not by exceeding a fictitious maximum number of cycles."

In case of an defect removal costs are covered

The extended warranty conditions also include the costs for removal, installation and transport. In contrast to many other manufacturers, there is no financial expense for customers in the event of a defect. "Unfortunately, these costs are usually not covered”, says Detlef Neuhaus, Managing Director of Solarwatt in Dresden. "We want to offer our customers in the case of a warranty claim real service. That is why we have developed not only an optimal energy storage solution for them, but also a protection without any ifs."

The new warranty package is rounded off by an all-round insurance: the coverage protects the storage owner against costs that can arise from damages such as theft, flood, lightning strike or an overvoltage in the supply network. During the first five years of operation Solarwatt covers the insurance costs.

Planned introduction in other European markets

The first installations of the modular energy storage system have been carried out successfully over the past days. Premium Partner Thomas Becker from ATB Becker in Tirol was one of the first installers who obtained the My-Reserve Matrix: "The energy storage business is very important for me. In Austria alone we install around 200 My-Reserve energy storage systems yearly with our partners”, he says “In order to keep system costs manageable, easy installation is necessary. We have never seen an energy storage system, that is so simple and easy to install”, Becker says.

Presently the My-Reserve Matrix is introduced and distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Starting end of this year, he will be gradually introduced in other European and international markets, Nadine Bernhardt, speaker of Solarwatt told pv Europe.(HS/HCN).
