Third top title this year shows German solar-tech company leads the way

Dresden, April 21st, 2017

Another award for SOLARWATT: The premium photovoltaic manufacturer’s battery storage device has been voted "Product of the Year" by the readers of elektrobörse smarthouse magazine. The MyReserve 800 from SOLARWATT took first place in the category "Renewable Energy" during this year's audience vote. It is the third prestigious award for the photovoltaic system supplier this year. SOLARWATT has already been awarded the "Top Brand PV" by the market and economic research company, EuPD, and the PV Magazine Award.

"Electricity storage is a milestone in the success of the energy revolution, as decentralised energy supply with clean solar power becomes a reality," says SOLARWATT CEO, Detlef Neuhaus. "In our view, self-sufficiency with electricity from one’s own roof is much more than just a contribution to climate protection. It is also a solution that is economically worthwhile for consumers because it reduces electricity costs enormously. We are proud that our customers have confirmed our efforts with this award."

MyReserve is based on lithium-ion technology and installed directly between the PV modules and inverter using DC technology. This makes it particularly efficient, since conversion loss is lowered dramatically throughout the system. Designed with flexibility in mind, this storage solution can be adapted to meet the diverse capacity and performance demands of a single-family home or a small business.

The premise of total flexibility has been pushed even further with the latest generation of SOLARWATT storage: the MyReserve Matrix, which will launch in summer 2017, is a completely modular system consisting of only two components. The battery and the module containing its battery management system and power electronics can be extended virtually without limit – a novelty in the storage industry. Installers will be able to offer their customers an economical solution with the perfect dimensions for their needs. At the same time the installer reduces their own training and installation costs of the device as well as storage and transportation costs.
